Shorwell WI celebrating 70 years 1948 – 2018
Shorwell WI meets monthly on the second Monday at 7.30pm in the Parish Hall, Russell Road, Shorwell.
What a super start to the year we’ve had. In January, 27 members and guests met for our post-Christmas lunch at the Wightmouse in Chale. We were looked after very well and all enjoyed the good food and good company.
As Easter is early this year our annual Soup & Pudding lunch was held 6 February. 50 visitors joined us from across our Community and the wider Island. The homemade soup and conversation flowed and the puddings, as always, were very well received and very little food was taken home.
At our February meeting our speaker was Anne Brown from Fired Arts who helped us with a hands-on session of decorating unfired items for Easter (we look forward to seeing the results post-firing!).
We now have a website www.shorwellwi.org.uk with more information of past events and upcoming activity. Please have a look and see what we’re up to.
In March we meet on Monday 12th at 7.30pm. Our meeting will be Wine Tasting with local enthusiast Jim Miller. We are a very friendly group and Visitors are most welcome, there is no charge for your first three visits. If you would like more information about what we do please feel free to call Debbie on 741384.
